Everyone knows this popular pizzeria makes a mean pie, but did you know the girls have a creative side? “We make themed pizzas upon request for special occasions and holidays,” said Phoebe Reckseit, half of the Pizza Girls team. “We’ve made a snowman [and] a Christmas tree. For the city’s Fourth of July celebration we made stars-and-stripes pizza. People want to know how we got the blue on the flag. I tell them it’s blue cheese.” (It’s actually ricotta cheese with food coloring, but hey, as usual at Pizza Girls, it’s all about fun.) The adorable snowman was also made from ricotta cheese with a portobello mushroom hat and broom, black-olive buttons and eyes, a carrot nose and outlined in spinach. Pizza Girls’ holiday pizzas were featured on an HGTV special, “Christmas Across America.” Pizza Girls filled requests for birthday and heart-shaped pizzas and is happy to work with customers to fulfill their personal pizza visions. A second pizzeria is opening in early summer Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens.
