Hydroponic U-pick farm in Delray Beach
Strawberries and vegetables are fresh from the container at this Delray farm.
It’s ladies first today: The Boys Farmers Market. a fixture in Delray Beach, announced the opening of The Girls Strawberry U-Pick at 14666 Military Trail, one-quarter mile north of the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Military Trail.
An organic gourmet country store opened behind the U-Pick, complete with strawberries, pineapples, assorted squashes, tomatoes, and a large vegetable patch. Live swans circle a fish pond, and each row of produce is named for what’s there: Kiwi Court, Pineapple Court, Peach Lane, Blackberry Lane, Blueberry Avenue, Strawberry Lane, and Raspberry Lane.
The Palermo family, owners of the Boys Market, has been working on the project for more than a year. “This is the vision of my mom Linda,” Andrea Palermo said. “It turned out beautiful.”
