Come witness one of nature’s extraordinary events, happening right here on our beaches. Learn about the Sea turtle’s life history, current issues affecting the turtles and what their future holds. Classes are held her at the nature center, while scouts comb the beaches for a nesting loggerhead sea turtle for us to view.

This year’s turtle watches will be held from May 24 to July 15 at 9pm.

Due to the late hour of the program children must be at least 8 years of age. Tickets must be purchased at the nature center.

Cost of ticket is $5.00 per person. Please call the nature center for further details.

Perfect for Children ages 2 - 7

The Family Fun Day Series is a great way to spend an enjoyable summer Saturday with your young children or grandchildren! See the show inside the beautiful theater; bring along your picnic lunch, and enjoy the on-site park after the show! And…don’t forget to feed the Delray Beach Playhouse ducks!

This summer, Locomotion Theatre will present 3 wonderful Pretend-Along shows geared especially toward preschool and young elementary age audiences. There’s lots of excitement, yet the content is gentle, the characters are genuine, and lots of laughter and fun are in store!

Each performance starts off with a live music sing-along, followed by a lively audience participation show. Choose to see one show, or come and join us for all three Locomotion Theatre Family Fun Days at the Delray Beach Playhouse!

Family Fun Day Show Schedule: Summer 2008

All shows start at 11 AM and run 1 hour with no intermission

Saturday, June 14th: Paw Pals! A delightful journey with Safari Joe and Patty to the very friendly Land of Not-So-Wild-Animals! We all visit with our animal friend Grr and climb up to his tree house for a great play-date!

Saturday, June 21st : Dinosaur Eggs in My Lunchbox! A sweet story about a child whose wish for a dinosaur playmate comes true. All the kids in the audience share the adventure with Dr. Dino, Buddy, and The Buddysaurus, pretending they are baby dinosaurs hatching from eggs and roaring for the first time!

Saturday, June 28th : Stargazia Blue! The children in the audience join Patty and the very silly Dr. Pokey on a spaceship ride to meet Shubu, the friendly outer-space child. Together, we have an out-of-this-world adventure!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Delray Beach Playhouse where the main stage will be transformed into Emerald City! The Wizard of Oz will be directed by our own Toni Stamos and Gina Nespoli.
