Hi Lindsay. I used to have the Japaneze hair straightening done and I liked it except it was VERY expensive and I couldnt afford it anymore. I heard the keratin treatment was cheaper. How much did you spend on it? Also, what was your hair like BEFORE the process? I’m trying to find a salon in my area that does this process but havent had any luck yet. I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pa.

After one has the Brazilian Keratin Straightening treatment it stated that one cannot use shampoo with sodium chloride, does that mean that one cannot go in the ocean?

I’ve gone into the ocean, pool, and just been myself with the treatment (which is fairly active). I received the treatment in mid-April, and we’re now approaching July, and I can tell it’s time. It didn’t last that long, and being on my budget and spending $400 for it, said never again. But, I’ll admit, I’ll close my eyes when I pull the wallet, and take the dive. I’ve been pretty pleased with the results. (I’m in the ocean on average 3 times a week).

I am in South Florida.. I just had my hair done a few days ago and I love it!! I had a geat girl who actually came to my home!! She was great and I am soo happy with the outcome! She uses the Keratin Complex By Copolla, so it’s not going to make you sick, it dosnt have formaldehyde..

I’m a biology grad student who read about this product online. i can’t help but speak up because it’s frightening to hear about people using this stuff on their hair. this product’s active ingredient is formaldehyde, which we use in the lab to fix specimins. you have to use it under the fume hood because exposure to formaldehyde vapors is rediculously dangerous and is notorious for causing brain and respiratory tract cancer. i even found that this product was outlawed in brasil, the country that it came from, because a woman died from exposure!i’ll stick to my straightening iron, thanks.

I just had my hair done a few weeks ago .. I am in South Florida and the girl came to my home! the whole experience was awesome and my hair has NEVER looked better!! I am soo happy! And, the product she uses has NO formaldehyde so it was totally safe… be VERY CAREFUL if it’s not formaldehyde free, my cousin got SUPER sick and wound up in the ER!
