Celebrating San Gennaro and MoQuila’s 2nd Anniversary on Restaurant Row in East Boca Raton
BOCA RATON, FLORIDA - The Eire Restaurant Group, known for Boca Raton’s culinary powerhouses MoQuila, IL Marco, The Don Room and soon-to-open Mickie’s Lounge, will celebrate the second anniversary of MoQuila, and the Italian Feast of San Gennaro, with a grand block party and festival on Saturday, September 29, 2007. Festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. on Restaurant Row, located on Plaza Real South in downtown Boca Raton. Admission is complimentary.
“As MoQuila celebrates our second anniversary, we are excited to host dual events that honor our loyal patrons who dine in our restaurants, and the culinary heritage and flavors of Mexico and Italy,” said Erika Wong, president of The Eire Restaurant Group. “Our second year marks an exciting time for our restaurants as we continue to add bold, refreshing flavors to our menus and offer social and dining events that continue to make MoQuila one of South Florida’s most popular restaurants and tequila bars.”
True to The Eire Restaurant Group spirit, the anniversary festivities and the San Gennaro celebration will include live music and dancing to the sounds of four entertainers - Reggae Beats by Adam Barnes, Eric Hansen, H-Bomb, and DJ Matt Spector.
In addition, the restaurants will host carnival-style games with prizes, the Peroni Girls, and the first annual Cannoli Eating Contest, an exciting, gastronomic challenge sure to draw a crowd of cheering spectators. Guests will also enjoy a fashion show featuring couture from Boca Raton boutiques including La-Ti-Da Boutique, LF Boca, Já Tem Boutique and Delicates Intimate Apparel. Live models, made beautiful by Pure Salon & Spa, will mingle with party patrons and accent a collection of luxury automobiles from Exotic Cars and Wheels of Boca Raton.
The menu includes a collection of specialty food items, highlighted by the restaurant’s now famous Grandma’s homemade sausage and peppers, gelato and zeppole. Drink specials will be featured throughout the evening, and the Patron Spirits Company and Grey Goose Vodka will sponsor ice luges.
“The Feast of San Gennaro, originally a one-day religious commemoration, has become an annual celebration of Italian culture and the Italian-American community in cities around the world,” says Wong. “We want to honor the celebration, and the many loyal guests who frequent our restaurants, with an experience that conveys the many flavors of Italian culture through phenomenal food, flowing libations and zeppole, a pastry typical of peninsular Italian cuisine created to honor San Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples.”
