It’s the summer of the FitFlop…

As soon as she saw them, she had to have them. But truth be told, she wasn’t the only woman dying to get her feet into the latest-greatest-leg-toning-thigh-trimming footwear…
It’s the summer of the FitFlop™ and by all accounts, summer hit the streets of London early this year. Almost all the shops and online stores that are selling FitFlops are sold out and making lists in anticipation of the next delivery, which, if it hasn’t arrived yet, should be soon because replenishment was promised by the end of May.
And what’s so great about the FitFlop? Well, like the sneaker-wearing-working-women before her, she’s adopted them as her to-and-from work shoes, but this time she makes it a point to get off the bus a few stops early to get in a mini workout on the way to the office.
Like her beloved leg crushing MBTs and Earth® shoes – but much cuter for Summer – supposedly, you can feel the muscles of your legs working overtime, from your calves all the way up through your hamstrings to – just where you need it most – your glutes. The sole of the shoe is designed with varied density which translates to a softer mid-sole that engages her muscles for a longer period of time with each step. The designers, biomechanists at the Center for Human Performance at London’s South Bank University, call it a wobble-board effect, but Girlawhirl feels firmly on the ground – yet still challenged – with each step she takes.
It all adds up to a stroll that can absorb shock to your feet, knees and back, strengthen her core, burn more calories, and improve muscle tone in her legs. Combine that with their cool styling and choice of Navy, Red or Black, and FitFlops are one giant step towards great looking legs for summer.
